“If I only scrape a living, at least it’s a living worth scraping.” ~ Astray Films
I hail from North Alabama in the beautiful mountain country on the outskirts of Huntsville. Storytelling was instilled in my by my dad: a gifted descriptive writer and love for all things history. That same appreciation for writing and the need to understand the culture in which I live has translated into making images of the people I meet and the places I go. I have a love for the American South and the humans who reside here.
I specialize in wedding films, portrait photography, and documentary filmmaking. Either way, I’m just happy to be holding a camera in my hands and telling stories. I take great joy in sharing those stories of life with others and do so with a mind-frame of craftsmanship. With a lot of imagination, the right tools, and a lot of hard work I will go as far and wide as anybody will take me to chase down the chance to tell somebody’s story.
I genuinely love what I do and with that I truly believe I don’t deserve being able to wake up and live my dream of making images. As long as I have air in my lungs and the ability to wake up out of bed and work for a living doing this, I will do just that:
Use the imagination gifted me. Work hard. Tell it like it was.
There is honor in that.
